4iP sponsors Young Rewired State

Rewired State is encouraging young geeks to hack the government.  Young Rewired State is happening on the 22nd - 23rd of August at Google’s offices in Victoria, London. 4iP is sponsoring the event and 4iP Commissioner Dan Heaf will be on the judging panel. We’re looking forward to it.  Judging by the last event in March, it promises to be a great event.

Rewired State was created as a non-profit organisation to ‘code a better country’ by using and liberating public sector data. It should be invaluable to young developers who will not yet have established the professional networks to help guide and showcase their current interest in developing, and will not have been catered for within existing national curriculum.  A group of about fifty young developers will be split into groups according to ability and interest and by the end of the weekend there will be a dozen or more projects with running code.  4iP would love to part/help/fund some of these so will be paying close attention and getting to know some of the developers.

If you want more info then head over to http://rewiredstate.org/young for more info.  I think all the places have now been filled, but if you want to get your name on a short list of reserves then speak to @hubmum.

This sounds like it was a crazy event. Will there be another?

Something tells me the government set it up for a heads-up on their competitors.
